Greg Towne has been a leading real estate professional and executive coach in the Seattle-Tacoma metro area for the last fifteen years. With diverse experience ranging from investing to assisting first-time buyers with the complex and emotional process of buying a home, Greg is a well-known REALTOR®, Broker, speaker, and educator across northwest Washington state, where he runs the Greg Towne Group and is the Executive Director of the John Maxwell Team. For the breadth of his knowledge and his genuine dedication to educating his clients and peers on how they can make empowered, sustainable real estate decisions, Greg has been recognized among the Top 10 Real Estate Brokers in Washington State for 2016 and 2017.
Greg started his real estate career as an investor, but soon discovered his aptitude for selling and buying homes as well. As he tells it:
"I got my license to represent myself and investors I was working with. I wanted a change from the corporate world; I wanted to be my own boss, and have a more dynamic schedule and job. Real estate ended up being a perfect fit."
Before beginning his work in real estate, Greg served in the military as a communications specialist for four years, and then worked as a field technician for General Dynamics. Highly self-motivated and craving a challenge, Greg obtained his real estate license in 2002 and began investing in local properties and advising other investors. With astute real estate instincts and a knack for education, Greg committed to real estate full-time in 2005, and has since become a widely sought-after specialist for clients buying and selling properties in Seattle, Tacoma, Puyallup, Olympia, Bothell, Renton, Auburn, and the surrounding areas. He is also a professional coach, working not just with real estate professionals, but also with insurance, financial, legal, and even medical professionals.
Today at the Greg Towne Group, Greg’s tireless work ethic and genuine compassion for his clients have set him apart from his competition. Known as “The Friend in the Business,” Greg operates on the philosophy that he is his clients’ friend first and realtor second—he makes it his mission to provide every client with insider information and sound advice, and works to build long-lasting client relationships based on mutual trust. In addition to helping a wide range of clients buy and sell commercial and residential properties and land, he also assists local companies with mergers and the purchase or sale of businesses. Greg's renowned negotiation skills and close connections with mortgage professionals, home inspectors, and more make each transaction as smooth as possible for his clients.
Soon after beginning his real estate career, Greg became known for his unparalleled communication and education skills. Since 2006, he has worked as an executive coach and consultant, where he is engaged as a public speaker, trainer, and professional advisor, helping a wide variety of professionals to improve their client communication, networking, sales, and more. Today, at his position as Executive Director of the John Maxwell Team, he provides specialized trainings and workshops to professionals across the Seattle area, with titles such as “When Your Business Plan Needs a Growth Plan,” “How to be a R.E.A.L. Success,” “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect,” and “Developing the Leaders Around You.”
With such prominence in his field, it is essential that Greg pay careful attention to pertinent trends and developments. To this end, he is an active member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Association of Realtors, the Washington Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Noting the importance of community and vigilance in an ever-evolving industry, he explains:
"Every month I pull housing statistics for my area, just to see where the housing pendulum is swinging. I also belong to a mastermind group of top-producing realtors across the country—they range from Phoenix, Arizona, to Tennessee, Kentucky, and California. All of us have been in business long enough that we’ve experienced market crashes. We want to make sure we’re positioned properly so that when the next big one hits, we and our clients are not losing everything."
Looking forward, Greg plans to maintain his high standards for client service, as well as continuing to advise other professionals throughout the Seattle-Tacoma area on best practices.
